At the core of Work Package 3 (WP3), our goal is to characterize and improve the performance of thermal management components by leveraging innovative geometries and advanced materials.
To achieve this, Ergon Research (ERG) will design thermal management coupons that will be 3D printed by Lithoz (LIT) and tested by Sabanci University (SAB) to analyse their friction and heat transfer properties. This step is essential to identify the most effective designs for future thermal management systems. The experimental data will help us build a database of performance, validating our numerical models and guiding the design of more efficient thermal management components.
So far, our key achievements include ERG and SAB successfully completing an in-depth literature review on innovative geometries. This comprehensive review has provided a solid foundation for the experimental phase of the project. Meanwhile, ERG and LIT have designed and manufactured the first thermal management coupon, which will soon undergo testing in the experimental rig developed by SAB.
As we progress, our focused is on designing and manufacturing three additional coupons, with testing set to begin in December.
We are excited about the progress made so far and the upcoming steps in the project. With ongoing innovation and testing, we are confident our work will contribute to the development of more efficient and effective thermal management systems in the future.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey of innovation.
