TRIATHLON and FlyECO Set Workshop Agenda

As TRIATHLON and FlyECO projects continue to strengthen their collaboration, the focus is now placed on a set of key technical topics critical to the advancement of hydrogen-powered aviation.

These topics will form the core of the discussions during the upcoming TRIATHLON × FlyECO joint workshop, hosted by Eindhoven University of Technology, which willbring together experts from both projects to exchange knowledge, align perspectives, and explore synergies across complementary research areas.

The workshop will address several key areas, including:

  • Hydrogen storage and conditioning
Exploring solutions for efficient storage, conditioning processes, and system requirements for hydrogen use in aviation
  • Advanced heat exchanger (HEX) solutions
Assessing the applicability of TRIATHLON materials and manufacturing techniques in FlyECO applications, particularly in thermal management components
  • Hydrogen combustion and steam/water injection
Discussing approaches to optimise performance and reduce emissions through advanced combustion concepts and injection strategies
  • Technology roadmap and key assumptions
Aligning on development pathways, system-level assumptions, and future directions

By bringing these topics together, the workshop will provide an opportunity to better understand how individual technologies interact across the full propulsion system: from hydrogen storage and conditioning to energy conversion, thermal management, and system integration.

This targeted focus reflects a shared effort to connect expertise and support a more coordinated approach to innovation in the European hydrogen aviation ecosystem.
