Highlights from the 14th EASN International Conference

From October 8th to 11th, the TRIATHLON project participated in the 14th EASN International Conference, a key event for professionals in the aeronautics sector. This event provided an excellent platform to share our innovative approach to hydrogen-powered hybrid electric powertrains, highlighting the potential for sustainable aviation solutions.

Nils Wieja from the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at Technische Universität Dresden represented TRIATHLON in a session titled “Hydrogen in Aviation: Fuel-Flexible Ultra-Low Emissions Combustion Systems for Sustainable Aviation, H2 Combustion, SOFC.” Chaired by Georgios Bampanis from CINEA, this session featured insights from representatives of various projects, including HOPE, ExFan, FlyECO, HYLENA, MYTHOS, and HESTIA, all part of the ClimAvTech Cluster. The discussions provided an opportunity to delve into the latest research in hydrogen technologies for aviation.

Additionally, on October 11th, we addressed recent advances and challenges related to composite hydrogen storage systems during a cross-sectoral session on LH2 technologies, chaired by Prof. Angelos Filippatos.

The EASN Conference served as an opportunity to present our ongoing research to the European aeronautics community. The feedback and insights we received will be instrumental as we continue to innovate and develop sustainable aviation technologies.
